Digging holes?

One crab has been digging holes all over for a few days now. I can’t imagine it’s for molting because he just came up a couple weeks ago. He doesn’t stay in these holes either so I’ve no clue what’s going on in his little 🧠 any thoughts 💭? :crabblush:

Thanks!

I know right?! I was sure they would be happy with them. Oh well, nothing like some picky scavengers haha

Re: Orchid flowers?

Sooo quick update? I put two orchid flowers, dried, in the tat. One was ripped up and added to food which has since been tossed and the other is still in there on the substrate like my other leaf litter. No issues but other than it being moved around, haven’t seen any munching on it, no noticeable s...

Re: Crape myrtle?

Just a quick update-haven’t seen anyone acting them but they’ve definitely moved around the tat. Everyone is alive and happy as can be. I put it in as leaf litter in a spot where I knew they walked past. Nothing unusual yet and hopefully never! ❤️🦀🐚

Re: The Predictive Power of Poop ?

Crabs drop a deuce wherever they want! I somehow I find piles "IN" empty shells, logs on logs, in food dishes, in their wheels, in their waters, even on other crabs. Pretty much anywhere they want. I have see some areas collect several piles. Now that last paragraph could make an absolutely hysteri...

Re: The Predictive Power of Poop ?

. Most of what I see is up to an inch long brown frown. Lmao! Me too! Now last night, speaking of poop, I was checking out the huge cork round I have for them to see how bad the split was and come to find out, I haven’t been seeing any brown frowns bc they r letting them reside in there with them! I...

Re: Surface molt/tote molt

I gave it some egg and eggshell and moved it's exo to right near it, and covered it in a cocohut. I think It ate some exo last night, maybe some egg, it's tucked back in the shell chilling now. All ya can do now is just wait it out and boy is that Hard! Especially for someone like me that hasn’t go...

Re: Surface molt/tote molt

S/he is just hanging out in that same spot. I'm trying to balance leaving it be and checking on it. I remind myself that it has molted bunches of time before and obviously felt comfortable enough to molt at the bottom of that paper towel pile in the tote. I covered the tote with a towel. Will he di...

Re: Hermit Crab lost 2 legs

Substrate: really?? It does not say "calcium sand" anywhere on the bag. Right now I have 25 pounds of sand with 4 pounds of eco earth (I used half of an 8 dry quart bag). I will add more eco earth and re-mix up the sand in the tank when I spot clean the tank next week. I will do more research on pl...
