Re: Crabitat cameras?
I’ve had my wyze on the inside of my 29gal, mounted with the hardware kit that it came with, and haven’t had any problems with it. I have others on the outsides of other tanks, I have to wipe dust or condensation once in awhile to see in. I actually prefer the one on the inside of the tank’s view b...

Re: New to the forum; have had my crab several years
I wish I knew where I read that now. Sigh...guess it doesn’t much matter, I’m glad to know that it’s really a non issue. I couldn’t imagine having to sift through pounds and pounds of sand with a magnet! Lol thanks for clarifying joe!

Re: New to the forum; have had my crab several years
Curious, what play sand is used? I just read something and now idk if it was here since I’m forever reading over these crabs lol ... someone was saying they used a 5 pound magnet on the playsand bc it has a lot of particles of metal which many say is bad for the crabs. Certain playsand is supposedly...

Crape myrtle?
Anyone try the leaves or dried flowers? This isn’t on either food list. They are super dried out and ready to go if okay. Thanks!

Re: Weird Spikey Mold
Hello all, this is less a call for help but more of a curiosity. Recently I added a seagrass hammock to the crabitat to give our crabs something new to climb on (a few of them had the habit of inverting themselves on the metal mesh roof of the tank and getting stuck there). It was a big hit, like a...

Re: Crabitat cameras?
Sorry it's sideways. I actually like that idea as well. Bc my tank fogs up soooo much, I figured I’d wind up having to figure a way to have it inside for the time being at least. That seems to be a very good option. I’ll have to see if their are any camera cheap that work in and out. The acurite I ...

Re: Crabitat cameras?
It's window blinds with the cam on top of the glass you will get some reflection. Unfortunately it's the only place we have room for Crabbyland. At night the reflection goes away. You need to keep the glass clean. The cam will pick up anything like sand or condensation that builds up making it hard...

Have u considered any other model like the pan? Why or why not? Thanks motor! Really appreciate the pictures. Makes...

Re: Molting emergency
I’m by No means an expert but if it was me, I wouldn’t let him dig on top of the other guy.....I’d be far too worried 😧 I would definitely be posting just like u have here and waiting anxiously by until someone answered me. If you are that worried, in my honest opinion, I wouldn’t take the chance. I...

Re: Crabitat cameras?
I started out using the Wyze cam but after a year it stopped working. Probably due to heat and humidity. I switched to this https://www.amazon.com/360-Wireless-Security-Surveillance-Detection/dp/B0725JSSCN I find it easier to position than the square wyze cam. I use a micro sd card with it. I have ...

Re: Crabitat cameras?
I noticed it was harder to see the 20 gallon, which has a screened in lid. But it is still better than nothing and worth it to know what crabs are up to and able to actually see them acting natural in their environment vs hoping to get lucky staring into the tank at pet sand. I've misted a couple t...
