Re: Breeding and Adopting Out

I think Mlakers is saying that in order to get the water jug inside the tank you have to cut it short. The spacers will be placed on the side of the jug which used to be the bottom. In between the jug and the side of the tank to make the cut end of the jug fit tight. Edit: if the top frame is remove...

Re: Post molt concerns and questions

Just an update on Mr. Crabs. He’s changing shells a lot. And keeping each one he tries for half a day or so. He visits the saltwater daily. Spending hours in it but not submerged. Not sure how much he’s eating. The honey is always gone. Either it’s spilling or he eats it or both. Looks like he ate s...

Re: Post molt concerns and questions

Just realized I think he’s missing an entire leg on the left side. Guess he didn’t regrow it in the molt? Or lost it during or after. No idea.

Re: Post molt concerns and questions

Also saw what looked like he was putting food from the leaf and bug dish inside his new shell. Went and drank more salt water then looked like he’s pulling food out from his shell and eating it. Hard to say for sure but looks like to me.

Re: Post molt concerns and questions

Mr. Crabs came out of the hole again and drank more salt water. Then he went back to the hole again for a couple days. He just now came out and has moved into a shell too small. He’s still moving slowly. Lethargic if you will. I finally got a decent look at him and he’s quite hairy so pretty sure he...

Re: Crab hanging upside down from lid?

I’ve let mine do that all they want. And others have said they fall from trees in the wild. I think their landing would be soft unless they hit a rock. I’m not sure if it’s dangerous or not.

Re: One of my strawberries and a better look in the freshwater pool!

Love it!

Ok I’m going to ask a question. Shocker right?

What do you have for sub in your aquarium?
Dustins fish tanks used organic potting soil. Or you can go more high tech with ADU or whatever James Findley sales.

Re: Play sand as pool substrate

When I used sand in an aquarium I did what Joehermits said. And for the final rinse I added prime.

Re: I've been told I should post my crabs here!

Thank you very much! Feel free to ask all the questions you have! Wow big plans and thank you for sharing those links! A few questions I can think of now are: What is your temperature and humidity and what equipment? What is the lighting equipment? Do you have anything to create airflow? And how ar...

Re: New to the crab world!

Welcome here! I did a pitty purchase back in January. Got 2 teenies. They buried after a week. One came up and died. The other must’ve died under the sub. I didn’t think I needed to iso them because the pet store had proper temp and humidity. I guess they just had too much stress during transport. M...

Re: Trying to make waterfall

There’s lots of videos on YouTube of making waterfalls. But I used the same filters Courtney Carr has in her bioactive crabitat video. I forget the brand. They are just internal filters. I think I would’ve rather used a pump instead of a filter. I covered mine with lava rock and the water flows down...

Re: Post molt concerns and questions

He may just be comfortable in the hole. He is stretching out a little far when he drinks, though. Is he able to fit his shell under that overhang? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes he can fit under it or go beside it. I finally got some small fake plants that I’ll zip tie to the mesh. Maybe th...
