After all, a hermie is a hermie is a hermie, all are adorable and all in need of proper care. Considering that there are 800 species of marine hermies and only 17 LHC's (and even that number is probably inflated) it seems to be a little odd to exclude marine crabs from our mission. Thank You Christ...

If it is not to late, I would also be happy to help search for information regarding marine hermit crabs. I enjoy reading about the salt water hobby in general so I think I would enjoy finding out more about marine hermits. However I have never actually kept marine hermits so I may be a little usle...

Coming from experience, aquatic hermit crabs don't really have the same needs and concerns that are usually associated with land hermit crabs. Their role from a pet viewpoint is pretty much the same as a snail. They're basically just there for cleaning purposes. They just play the custodian role in...

Should the HCA include a "Special Marine Hermie Forum?&

I second the notion of setting up another area in the forums specifically for Marine Hermies. I know I have them, I know I can find where to "Buy" Them on-line and I know that ther many species. Some will stay Teeny while others can get as Large as Large or even Jumbo. I would imagine that the "Mari...

Hello! :)

I am 1 of the Few who Have Marine Hermies. I will say this, I do not know much about them, other than they are similar to LHCs in that they need Extra Shells and the right Conditions to Survive and Thrive.
They can be quite Beautiful. Almost Neon like Colorations :)

I Must agree with Cisnegra. A Deep clean really isnt that necessary unles for 2 reasons that I can think of for the Moment. 1) Mass death due to an Unknown Condition. 2) Bug Infestation of unknown origins. I have always said that I like to have a Micro Eco system in my Set up. Beneficial Bugs and Su...

Create a Very Warm and Very Humid Environment. Thus, my hopes were to make the Nakey Crab to want to reshell. It seems to work best in a Small Container. I had Suggested a Hot Wet Cloth over the Container with a Light Bulb Shining down onto the Wet Cloth...Hence Heating the Micro Environment to very...

I Have had quite a few Problems in the Past with what I thought were Mites. Well sort of. It seems I get these Lil White (Teeny tiny) things when I use Eco earth...They dont seem to bother the Crabbies..But rather they do go for the Crab food. I did order Hypoaspis Miles from http://www.shopgreenmet...
