Okay, to those who think that PP's don't like murexes

Your crabbies are cute Shelly! I gave up offering murexes and magpies because mine just used them as toilets. I think they are too lazy to choose anything but turbos because of the extra weight; you must have Schwarzenegger crabs.

API Aquarium Salt

I would like to know the people that she spoke with though? I have been using API for six years for my PPs and they love it - and it tastes like 'salt' to me (yes I taste it from time to time lol). Epsom salts have a really bitter taste IMO and don't taste anything like API salt, though they do look...

Gift exchange

That's cool - I ordered my husband work shoes for Xmas with free shipping and it felt like I was getting a Xmas present too. I hate to pay megabucks for shipping, I wish the crab sites had free shipping from time to time w/o ordering like $100 worth of merchandise lol. Merry Christmas again - this w...

Gift exchange

I got my package early this morning - thank you so much for all the Jr. stuff! I love everything - my son ran off with the beanie baby so I can't find him at the moment but I have all the other stuff right here. I hope you did not spend too much on these - I know how much Jr. stuff can cost. What a ...

Gift exchange

Oh cool - thanks for letting me know. I will look for the package tomorrow then, can't wait to see what it is. Yeah, my crabs will often like the free sample baggies from HCA and half the time it is a guessing game as to what they are eating. It's odd because you would think she would want people to...

Gift exchange

I will let you know when the other box comes - mail is notoriously slow around here lol.I figured it must be the build-a-mix when I went to feed the crabs out of the big bag tonight. I'd never tried that from HCA but it was a real hit, they are nibbling right now on it. I still think it is a bag of ...

Gift exchange

Glad you got it - I wanted to get you a Jr. metal car full of chocolates too but I couldn't find it anywhere so maybe they don't issue them at Xmas anymore? Anyway - glad you like everything, I had fun picking it all out. Between NASCAR, hermit crabs, and Farmville my husband has long ago thought th...

Gift exchange

Sure, $25 is fine. I think that's about what I spent on my gift exchange partner last year. Do you want just crabby stuff or a mix of other things as well? I can always use crab food/treats but I'm pretty good on the other supplies. I have lots of small crab shells that I'd be happy to send you alon...

Lethargic?

New crabs aren't often interested in eating or drinking once the initial hyperactivity phase settles down. If she is nibbling on the sand, though, she could be calcium-starved so do place a small dish of Calci-Sand, crushed eggshells, etc. near her. That can actually help boost her energy, too, if s...

More info about lava rocks please

Yep, I think the lava rocks for gardens, grills and fire pits are the same as the one I have in my tank, but I'm not sure if they treat those with something first before selling them since they are not labeled for pet use. If you scroll down on this page, you can see the lava stone but it says the i...

More info about lava rocks please

I am pretty sure they are a good source of naturally-occurring calcium as well as other important nutrients for crabs. Since mine are most interested in the lava stone after molting, it must be helping to replenish those stores lost in molting. I found this link which explains it a little bit better...
