Hi! My friend and I recently went to the beach and she made the decision to take home two hermies (I believe purple pinchers). The store led her to believe they were a lot less work than they actually are, as they do, and she was not prepared for the time, money, and dedication it takes to properly care for these creatures. I want the animals to be happy and healthy, and I would take them in if I had the space and money, so I'm helping find them a home. They're currently at my apartment in the Boston area of MA, in a sad little beach container. I'm thinking of getting a small temporary tank until I find an adopter.

Please, please let me know if you are able to take these two cutie pies home!

Are you still looking to rehome them? I live in Belmont and could take them. I have 2 tanks 29+ gallons.

Hi! What have you decided to do with the crabs? This might be a completely obvious reply... but have you considered simply bringing them back to the same beach your friend took them from- and letting them go back into their natural habitat?!? Also- your friend is lucky someone didn’t spot her taking them from the beach... she could have received a serious fine. (And of course, would NOT be able to take them home. They are wild crabs... not pets.)
