Artificial incubation and development temperatures

Post by wodesorel » Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:41 am

Came across this paper and wanted to share! The authors wanted to check temperature effects on growth rates of hermit eggs, so they set them up for artificial incubation - in other words, removed from mom. They got several species straight through to hatching! It's a treasure trove of info for anyone trying to breed.

This link should do an automatic PDF download for anyone interested.

I've never had problems with 'Impulse Buying'... They're just animals/plants I forgot I had planned to purchase.

This is cool, although I’m not sure if artificial incubation is practical for the home breeder. But, hey, you never know.

I wonder if we could try it with smeared eggs.
