Help identify my crab?

Post by hummingbird008 » Wed Jun 24, 2015 10:01 pm

This Jerry  I'd be grateful if someone could help me figure out what type he is. This picture was taken when I was cleaning his crabitat - he does not live in that! Thanks! :P

Hi, this is another person who lives in Jerry's home. No, I don't believe he's a pp. he's a medium-to-dark brown with no hint of any other color. His companion crab is a pp and looks quite different.

We need a good pic of his face and eyes. A close up so we can check. Also his big claw and legs. It will help. I have a crab this color and he is a PP. They are all different. :) Image

Color isn't a good way to determine species. PPs especially come in a wide range of colors. Your pics are pretty small and blurry on my phone but from what I can see, he's a PP. Pics as Kelly described would help to be sure. :)

Purple Pinchers can be any color from light sandy beige to pinkish orange to tan with red legs to a deep maroon, almost black!

I'm pretty sure he's a PP, too. I'll try to get a better picture tonight when he comes out. :D
