preventing salt clumping

Post by Guest » Sat Apr 15, 2006 3:09 pm

I don't know if this has been talked about but I found a solution to prevent my ocean salt from going hard like a rock! I bought the smallest bag possible but I still only use 1 or 2 tsp a week for my salt pool and the darn stuff hardened to the point where I was having a hard time scraping off enough to use. SO I had an idea one day while I was baking. Use a piece of soaked terra cotta like I use in my brown sugar.... And it WORKED! it keeps the first inch or so nice and soft so I can just scoop the salt out! YAY! I thought I'd share this for anyone who might be frustrated with this problem too :) I didn't know where to put it so I put this post in general.
Have a happy Easter :)
