Molting worries

Post by CrabMommaChara » Wed Feb 06, 2019 4:52 am

My size small hermit crab, Hermes, has dug underground, buried himself, and I assume is molting. However, I have less than ideal soil (three parts creature soil to one part calci-sand) that is only about 2 inches deep so I'm worried he won't survive.

Should I move him out, though he has already began to molt?

How do I help the little dude?
I am working off a tight budget and more supplies are not available right now...

Sorry for the late response, but if the crab has not been under for a week yet, I would dig them up because they likely did not yet start the molting process.
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.
Crabbing for 4 years!

It's been a bit and I don't want to interrupt the process now. Thanks anyway.

How did it go?
I have had pets in the past, but my family can’t have any furry or feathered ones due to allergies. I usually try my best to help and currently trying to set up a crabitat. I also try to treat others with Love!❤️
