coconut butter
i was wondering if coconut butter is ok for my crabs because its pretty hard to get quality, organic coconut were i live.
coco butter is 100% coconut, but it is processed, (cold presses) on the container it says that it is unrefined (whatever that means)
another thing is that it melts very easy so it could be messy.

Re: coconut butter
Do you mean coconut oil? Or COCOA butter? Those are two different things. . . but I haven't heard of coconut butter?

Sorry, (my family calls it the same thing all the time) um,
I think its called coconut oil, its consistency is more like melty ice cream.

Re: coconut butter
I know what you’re talking about, I use it to cook once in a while.
Yes, it is safe for hermit crabs. It’s just the fatty oils from the coconut.

Yes, organic coconut oil should be fine for them, although I don't know whether it would be something they would particularly go for. If you decide to offer them some, let us know if they like it!

Re: coconut butter
I have some coconut oil that's just sitting around. Maybe I'll try it out on my crabs too once they all come up.

It's great for popping popcorn! The crabs absolutely love it, and it's the same stuff movie theaters use so we love it, too.
