Carpet in Crabs' Room Needs Cleaned

Post by Lephantome92 » Tue Jul 10, 2018 8:05 am

One of our cats peed somewhere in my room, where I keep my crabs. However, it's been a wild goose chase finding where because the spot was dry till I found out about it. How much of a risk to my crabs' health would it be to move them right back after getting the carpet professionally cleaned if it comes down to that?

Do you have any crabs down?
I wouldn’t move the tank if they are underground, you’d have to be extremely careful not to collapse any tunnels.

Edit:
What size is your tank? If it’s over 20 gallons, then I would not try moving it.
GotButterflies has the awesome idea with the black light! :)

You can purchase a black light to see where the urine stain is :)

The tank is more or less a 40 gallon. Hopefully I can get some kind of blacklight tonight!

Carpets are usually...attached to the flooring. Rugs are moveable.

The carpet cleaning isn't going to harm the crabs. Just wrap the tank if you are worried about cleaning smells.
