Best cleaning method?
I have a predicament where I need to clean a desk in the same room as the crabitats, but what can I safely use that will kill any present bacteria without harming the crabs?

Hot water. If there are windows in the room, open them for ventilation. If the desk is wood, I'd use Pine Sol. If it's metal, I'd use chlorox wipes, or Lysol wipes. If it were me, I'd just make sure the ventilation is good and I'd clean the desk as quickly as possible. Make sure the tank is sealed up well while cleaning.
That's just what I would do. Maybe others have different ideas. I'd definitely stay away from any seriously strong cleaners like ammonia and such.

Alright, thanks! It's a wooden desk, and I can definitely open the window

I'd avoid sprays like End Dust or wood polishes and anything that has a lingering scent.
