This is where you discuss the conditions of your crabitat -- temperature, humidity, substrate, decorating, etc.

Springtails

Does anyone have spingtails in the
crabitat? If you used msw for your substrate, will they survive?

I decided my habitat could use so microfauna as a cleanup crew and trying to figure out what will work.

Lots of people keep them in their crabitat, seems they're pretty easy to keep in crabitats whose heat and humidity are kept in a good crab range (75~85 heat, 80+% humidity). I don't see why MSW would bother them, seems fine. If it's safe substrate for crabs it's good for springtails. Seems like most people lose springtails because they dehydrate easily, which isn't an issue in good crabitat conditions.

I mixed my substrate with dechlorinated msw. I used to have springtails until I purchased H. Miles mites for my garden and put some in each of my crabitats. Now I don't have them anymore :)
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com
