There is what I believe to be mold growing on the log, it’s green on some parts and fuzzy on other. Can someone tell me is this is ok? Or should I replace it/clean it? We are new hermit crabs and trying our best to make a suitable home for our new friends

It is mold. It won't hurt the crabs but if you have sensitivities it can cause you problems!
You can combat mold with salt - boil the wood in a heavy amount of salted water and allow to dry fully. You don't have to use Instant Ocean, you can use any cooking salt without additives, like kosher salt. I do several cups of salt per pot when boiling wood for the crabs and haven't had an issue with mold since.
