Violet’s New Dolphin Shell

Post by JoeHermits » Sat Nov 21, 2020 12:04 pm

This hermit crab refused every shell I offered her for over a year until she finally settled on this one.

Little fashionista just has to be extra.

Super cute! Definitely worth the wait to grab a shell like that. :)

Violet’s New Dolphin Shell

I’ve never seen a shell like this! It’s natural and safe? Where can I find one?! I have sooo many shells, but they all look so similar that when my crabbies switch out, I can hardly tell who is who! Shells like this would make it so much easier...plus it’s so pretty! I’ve also got one guy who refuses to come out of his painted shell so I need to provide him as many different options as possible (since none of the 20 others are working for him, lol). Would love to check these out...any online store names/links would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Gonna check out the mentioned Naples in the meantime!

Richard’s Seashells, actually. The price was reasonable so I tossed a couple in my cart while shopping.

Yes, it is safe. The outer layer is carved, no pigments necessary, somewhat like the polished bands you see on some shells.

I got this one from Richard’s Seashells: https://deltonaseashells.com/inc/sdetail/157/385145

Ohh such a beautiful shell! It looks very good on her, with her colors. She is a beautiful crab, her name fits her perfectly too.
