Draco up from his molt!

After 13 weeks under...

My beautiful boy is now a little monster! He's now comfortably reached tennis ball size. As far as his molts go it was really short, he's under sometimes for up to 4-5 months! Do you think he'll go back after he eats a bit or he's done? He looks super healthy and his coloration is exactly what I hoped for! What do you guys think? He wasn't really worn down before he went under, just a bit sluggish. I REALLY missed my little Drakezilla, so I hope he's done! What do you guys think? Do they still need chill time after a molt? I ask cause I wanted to let him out a little for better pictures.

More importantly, I plan to transfer him to his new 60gallon when he's ready! I just don't want to stress him.

ETA: Don't worry! The white on him is sand. Image

ETA; more pics!

Thank you SO much! His super diet is really paying off!

He did startle me being so big coming up after me taking care of an empty tank for 3 months!

He might look big, but he's a total sweetheart!

That is one big, handsome crab! Congrats on whatever you're feeding him to allow him to thrive so well.

Awe, thanks! He gets a mix of dehydrated/fresh, all natural food plus calcium from cuttlebones and spirulina powder. I worked super hard to get lots of nice color in him!

Thanks! I thought so too! he's been with me about 12-13 years? I've honestly lost track! I'd say 14 max.

I have him and 4 other smalls that I adopted in December. I dream of them all being with me for 30 years! Him especially. I'm pretty attached. Image may your son's crabs be blessed with the same tenacity that's kept mine going!!

You're telling me! He's been with me through so much! The learning curve has been huge!! But he's pretty forgiving all things considered! He's my baby. Image now that I can say I know what I'm doing, he's totally spoiled rotten! I hope he's with me another 14 for sure! ImageImage

Spirulina powder is, I think, part of the reason he's such a dark color this time. It's the highest known concentration of beta carotene. ( which is odd cause it's a fine dark green powder! ) you can get it at a natural foods store as a vitamin supplement or online on Amazon. Image I've seen it go from $8 and up, but one bottle should last you forever!
