Meet Harold - my new little man

Post by KellyCrabbieLove » Tue Jan 27, 2015 7:43 pm

When I found my E was gone I called the pet shop. My warranty was long expired but I wanted to talk with them about conditions and whatnot. I headed over there to meet with the owner and took a little bag of food I mixed up for the current guys in their tank. After some discussion I had completely
Horrified the owner explaining the woes of painted shells. She freaked out and swore she would never order those again. She asked me for my number and wrote it down so if she had any questions she could get ahold of me. She was so distraught over the shell thing.

She gave me a crab as a thank you. Here he is. Harold my new tiny pp. He has so far decided to hang on to his painted shell. I peeled the paint off where I could and the actual shell is beautiful.

So good to hear you were able to pass on some advice to the pet store. It's so nice when you find one that will hear you out. :D

Sweet little crab! I love babylonia shells and wish more PPs would be willing to wear them, in spite of their D-shaped openings.
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale
Also Mom to Imogene the Syrian Hamster

I was happy she was so interested in them and making their lives better too. I am going to talk to her Fridays and see if there is a difference in dead crabs being brought to the store when she starts feeding them what I gave her. I think it will be a neat experiment.

I love those shells too!

I think he is a cutie too. He is crazy active although right now he is destressing. I'm going to be keeping an eye out for that awful paint.

Did you ask her is she would be willing to give out our care sheets? What about her stock? Is she willing to change to carrying some friendlier crabbie merchandise?

What a cute tiny guy! It is always good to know people are in pet stores put there who are willing to listen and do the right thing. Reading about your experience has empowered me to speak up to my Per Supplies Plus, whose tat looked like an ancient crabby torture dungeon. Thank you for sharing and congrads on Harold!

Such a cute crab! And awfully cute name too!

It's great that the pet stores are interested in their crabs health, I hope their conditions will improve :)

He has been hanging out with Berry. Conversations between hermit crabs must be interesting
