Rearranged decor in tank:)
Rearranged decor in tank:)
So I was changing out the water in the pools when I thought why not rearrange some things? The shell shack on the front glass had been bothering me. Not sure why. Probably some OCD going on So here are a few views. Pretty much all the same stuff. Just added more fish net by the pools and rearranged the Mobani and cork log and brought back my old shell shack with hut
Enjoy! Oh! And if u look closely u can see Mike on the Mobani:):)
This is the left side of the tank with both pools and shell shack with hut
This is looking down the tank from the pool ("hermie view"? )
And this is a close up of the right side of the tank - see Mike on the Mobani?

Looking good to me! Love the light (assume LED's?, think they are a great addition to all tanks).

Thanks guys!! Yes, aussieJJDude, the lights are LEDs:) My vision is not the best so they help me see inside the tank better for maintenance.

Thought so, T5 and T8 can never give off the same spectrum like an LED can. Crisp white is !Kermie16 wrote:Thanks guys!! Yes, aussieJJDude, the lights are LEDs:)

Looking good Kermie. Jelly because Cheerio went back down, preventing me from doing my tank overhaul.
Hows the hamster wheel working out? Has Mike blessed it?
Did submerged jar hide make it in the redo?

Thanks, CrabMater! Mike recently went down for a molt but once he figured out what the hamster wheel did, he was on that thing the majority of each day and night! Very cool to watch ! Submerged jar is still in its place, mainly because of molters possibly underneath and also because it is the main home for the Isopods:) They love the moss and hiding in the baby shells siliconed in thereCrabMater wrote:Looking good Kermie. Love the tank!! Beautiful! Can I ask about your fan? Reasoning for needing one?

Re: Rearranged decor in tank:)
Thank you The fan is not necessary for the crabitat. I initially got it when I had my 20g tank and had issues with mold. A few HCA members mentioned that the fan could help with some of the air flow in the tank and decrease chances of mold. So I got this little plastic fan from Walgreens for about $5. It's a desk fan and I just flipped the stand up in the back to make it flat. I kept the fan for the 55g because one of our crabs seemed to like the breeze No joke. Any time it would come on and he was on a second level, he would pause and let the breeze blow on him! Funny crabs. I have it on a timer and it's set on a low speed so it only goes off about 4 times a day for 15 min periods. Oh, and I also had a crab (molting now for 6 months) who liked to climb it to go up and slide down it coming down. So it has good entertainment factor as wellHighnmighty217 wrote:Love the tank!! Lol! Funny GB! I'm the same way! I'm so curious how everyone else's crab babies are doing, and if they molted well and what colors they are now, etc. It's awesome having such great support on this forum! I'm so grateful for everyone here and all of the wonderful advice!GotButterflies wrote:A few times I have seen one of my adopted crabs..Pinchy (he was named that) on the wheel..and I have been like, "Oh, hi Mike!"

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Kermie! Yes agree, love the crab talk! Though I'm probably not subscribed to the category that has reg crab talk. I am becoming much better familiar with the forum though and how to get around. Just app itself can still be wonky n not update or notifiy me when I have new comments or tell me when something new has been posted!
