Little Crabby

Post by ThatMamaDawn » Tue Aug 06, 2019 10:44 pm

One of my new little guys (I’ve had him for a couple months) has appeared from the down under. I haven’t seen him in at least a month or so.

This is Mr. Crabs and he is NOT shy.

Imaging my surprise this morning when I picked up his shell and it was empty. I nearly had a heart attack.

I did a quick scan of available shells and realized he changed shells. And then I located him in the moss pit.

Aw so tiny and cute!
But please stop handling the little one, it stresses them out. Most of us on here recommend a hands-off approach.

Cute! Look at those black toenails! But I agree with curlysister about handling them.

It stresses them out? Really? I did not know that. When I’m fidgeting in the tank they come right up to me. And always pop out to check things out.

I didn’t know it stressed them out.

I'm sure there may be crabs that are less afraid than others. Sometimes their walking around, climbing on their owners isn't being friendly, it's looking for a safe spot to hide.
