Hypothetically I suspose you could be the main concern of mine is Ammonia, Nitrate and Nitrite build up in the water from the fish waste, this is already going to be an issue with the crabs pooping in the water and dragging in food and other debris so you really want to start out with water that is as pure as possible.If your using an R/O filter on your marine tank that would make the water cleaner and safer for the crabs.

I would suggest adding "instant ocean" in their salt water dish. I've seen it at petco in the aquarium dept.
