Shell, but no crab

Post by jgfceit » Sun Jan 12, 2014 2:54 am

A little while ago, Fawkes switched into a smaller turbo shell. I assumed it was so he could bury himself more easily. Some of the other crabs started coming super close to him, and I was more than a bit worried. He disappeared shortly after, and now I found his shell-empty! None of the extra shells seem to have been taken, and for the last week, there have been these long orange things (about a 1/4 of an inch long or so) that suspiciously look like limbs! Did my other crabs become cannibals? And should I search for him?

Shell, but no crab

How long has he been gone? What sub do you use? If you have EE, it will breakdown a body so that all you find is the shell. It could be cannibalism, it could be a bad molt, it could be an error is your memory. I would not go looking for him unless he has been under for more than a couple months AND no one else is under.
