Food on 2nd level

Post by Hermiesguardian » Sat Dec 29, 2018 12:18 pm

Does anyone have their food dish on the 2nd level? It's gotten really hard to find a spot to put the dish because of all the holes.

Yes, I do that. Mainly so the crabs have food since my over population of isopods eat all the crabby foods. I also put moss, leaf litter and bark up on the second level

I was thinking about it. I’ve seen mushroom ledge type things that get siliconed to the side of the tank that I wanted to try but then there’s only one food section, I like my peapod and flower food dishes so much. I think I saw someone that had a wooden type second level with the their food dishes up. If you do, let me know. Everyone is so creative on here, someone will come up with something.

I do have the moss pit on an upper level. I guess they find the food no problem.

I'm not creative at all. But I would have to figure out where to put it that it doesn't block the camera view of the wheel. And not just do a shelf where they can push the dish off the shelf.

WOW! That's creative. What's that rod? Looks like a pipe. And metal staples? Don't they rust? I'm more of a simple job person. Like recipes. I only use recipes with 3 or less ingredients. Lol. Of course for the crabbies I use more ingredients.

It's a Flukers tension rod I got at the pet store in the reptile area. I use plastic zip ties to secure everything

The Fluker's Bamboo Rods are plastic rods with suction cups. They expand up to 15 inches. They won't work with larger tanks like a 75 gallon that is 18 inches.

So I did make a 2nd level for food. At least 2 crabs have found it. I also expanded the climbing net and they can access the food like that or by a ladder. I attached the plastic container to the ledge and put the foodbowl inside. And as you can see I cut out the side so I can see if anyone is in there eating.ImageImage

From walmart. It had legs on it that I removed. I attached burlap so they can walk on it.
