Crabs haven’t molted yet
Crabs haven’t molted yet
I have 3 pps, I am concerned because I’ve had two of them since December and no one seems to want to dig at all, let alone molt. They are quite active with climbing things, they eat and drink and seem to be happy... just no digging. Is this normal?
PP: Jumba, Pleakley, Nani, and Cobra Bubbles (Bubbs)
Molly's: Goliath and Lucy
Powder Blue Dwarf Gourami: Blue
Zebra Danios: Domi and Ori
Snails Ivey, and unnamed
Ghost shrimps: unnamed

What type of substrate do you have, and how deep is it?

A mix of sand and coconut fiber 8 inches on the one side of the tank, tapers out to about 6 on the other side. Humidity between 75-80 but it did drop to 60 for about a day a few weeks ago.curlysister wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 7:32 pmWhat type of substrate do you have, and how deep is it?

Play sand and coconut fiber (EE) are good, sounds like it's deep enough (assuming your crabs aren't huge, LOL). As long as it's the right sub, and it's the proper consistency (sand castle, so it holds it's shape), just keep doing what you are doing. They will molt when they are ready!
