This is one of my juveniles. Hatched 4 Dec 2016. Just taken a huge shell and made major modifications to it overnight.

Crazy crab lady with 1 male raised in captivity who is now 7 yrs old (Dec 23) and a 2 females I've added from rehoming or adoptions to add to my breeding colony.

So amazing! That’s quite the project for the little one, I can’t believe how strong they are. It really interests me how they modify their shells. Do you have any video of him/her doing that? I’d love to see how they modify their shells. Thank you for posting pictures, I love seeing the captive bred babies.

No sorry no video. The only way I know how long it too was because I added the shell late one evening. Then in the morning I noticed the crab in the shell and it was modified like this. I know it didn't look like that when I added it as I probably wouldn't have even thought about putting it in like that thinking it would be too rough for the poor little juveniles. HA HA how wrong I would have been.

I have 4 purple pinchers. Crush, Bubbles, Sheldon, Sandy, and little Angelo. And I love Jesus! He is the way, the truth and the life, and he knew what he was doing when he made hermit crabs!☺
