Re: Changing sub
I know one member has had their crabs for going on 10 years and have never changed their sub, only added to it when they’ve upgraded. There’s probably a lot more that haven’t changed it either, I know of the one example and her crabs are healthy, happy. I would have never changed mine if I didn’t have a flood. I think the only reason you need to change it is because of a flood or bacterial bloom.

Re: Changing sub
That's me! It will be 9 years next month, I have never changed it all out, just added more when I upgraded tanks!

Re: Changing sub
I don’t change mine, I try to stir it if I catch a timeframe where everyone’s up. Only time I’ve changed it recently is when I had a bacterial bloom within the past two years.

Re: Changing sub
Good to know guys. I'm moving and I'm upgrading from a 44 to a 65 at my new place, previously was thinking about taking all the old sub to the new house and now I think I might, if I can move it in a convenient way!
