Well, Cher came up from the shortest molt she has ever had....only to return under ground again the very next day. Now I am wondering if her 'extremely long molts' have always been like this. She usually stays under much longer than Sonny, even tho he is larger. Maybe she doesn't stay down all that time, maybe she is coming up and down and I just never caught her on the surface before!

You have to watch to the end. Here's the dialogue:

"Here, let me help. I've got you.... I've got you... let go, I have you.... hmmm... maybe if I get on the other side, hold on, uhhh... that's not gonna work. Just let go. I have you."

"I thought you had me!!!"

Oh my gosh I couldn't stop laughing  He was actually pushing up on the other crab trying to help him back up. Too cute!

Shallan is enjoying climbing on the new toys that I made for her from some materials my husband brought home from work specifically for the crabs! They aren't spoiled or anything! Image

Your crab is probably down by now. They usually climb down after a while and can hang on pretty tight to mesh and nets so not likely to fall. If you are afraid of escape you can try to gently get him down if he does it again. Never pull hard if a crab hangs on because a crabs would rather give up a limb than let go by force. You may already know this but just in case you don't...if your lid is nothing but mesh, the top needs to be covered to keep in warmth and humidity. Hope this helps

The first is Princess enjoying a snack while being stalked by Mr. EnDoh. Image

The second is Corn, who just came up from molt today- she’s super vibrant where her color shows and always keeps lighter tips.

So interesting. Crabs in one tank love freeze dried crickets. Crabs in the other tank look like they don't eat the crickets at all.

Look where I found Scuttle this morning. He is becoming more and more outgoing and he lovvves to climb things.

Image

I checked the camera when I got up to use the bathroom and I heard a bunch of noise. I was like hmmmm so I went to check on him and this was where he was. I try to leave them alone but I didn’t want him to be stuck and get hot from the camera so I did get him down. He did not like it lol and held on for dear life.

Mine have done that. If he gets too warm, he'll move.

Watch him bathe himself. He really give a lot of attention to his big pincher. He wants it to shine. And when he's squeeky clean, he has to get back in the sand.
