got my new exotics from bob at elhc! such beautiful crabs and bob was so helpful through the whole process.so my new crabs are :
1 pink indo(brevimanus roseus)- marble
1 jumbo e(compressus)-neptune
1 viola(violences)-calypso
1 indo(brevimanus)-garnet
1 ruggie(rugosus)-storm aka pinchy
all are very outgoing. the first 2 are males (even the pink one Very Happy) and the other 3 are girls. trying to figure out how to put pics on here ( i use my cell phone for the net) anyone know how? its not an iphone though. i would recommend getting crabs from exoticlandhermitcrabs.com if you have the money(bob is very expensive- some of the crabs are $50 per crab Shocked) i think i'm going to order from livehermitcrabs.com. anybody have any experience with them? i know the price difference is drastic.

Can't wait for pic's Smile , Sorry I can't tell you how to upload them from your phone without more info.,. what kind of phone is it? I have used my phone to e-mail myself pic's and them forwarded them to other locations. That may work for you. Good Luck.

fiesty that is great! Congrats! I can't wait to see the pictures ( I have to get mine up too)
I got several from him last Thursday
2 silver streak aussies
2 nudderbutter aussies
2 blueberries
2 ruggies
2 brunesses

I love them all so much so pretty!
The real reason I am posting is that I have had experience with 'livehermitcrabs.com' I ordered two e's from them last year in May, it took them more than a month to send and communication was nonexistent.
Sadly both Harold and Lilly passed away. I had them less than a year, the packaging was pretty good, they were lively when they got here. My crabitats are kept very well, within the acceptable ranges, I am not sure what happened, I can't really blame the vendor for this, I believe it to be an issue with eco earth.
Bottom line customer service and delay with no explanation was the worst terrible but the crabs were fine, very pretty in fact Crying or Very sad

hey glcnin, you got your crabs the same day i did! i felt like i waited forever(ordered feb 15th) that snowstorm really messed things up. how are your crabs? how do the brunnuses look? its hard to see by the pic on his site. do you keep all your crabs together in the same tank? i really wanted to get some aussies but i heard rumors that you have to seperate them. were all your crabs in good condition/freshly molted? mine were except for my pink indo. he wasn't too pink and some of his legs are broken Sad , he seems fine though but was a little territorial at first. my compressus is huge, never could find one that size anywhere else. how was the coloring on your blueberries? my viola is a deep blue/purple. i wish i had more money to spend, i want them all! Very Happy . i'm going to email lhc and see if they respond and ask the wait time for orders, thanks for the heads up on them!

I ordered from LHC and had a very good experience. Their shipping method is my favorite of all the online hermit crab vendors. I got three straws from LHC well over a year ago and I'm thinking of ordering again from them next month.

I ordered around that time too, the wait was killing me, but I am glad that Bob cares so much to hold off until weather and delays improved. Mine were in great shape, I was worried about the blueberries because they were so calm, turns out that is just the way they are Wink I heard that the broken legs happen around mating season, so your pink should be fine after a molt.

I believe they had all freshly molted because they were bright eyed, bushy, and needles for toes! The color on my blueberries is great, especially since I ordered small, they are both obviously blue, but two different shades. The color on the rugs is outstanding there is a striking black and white one the other is bluish. Aussies are just awesome, they are small and quick, look just like the pics. Very friendly, I would expect such small guys to be shy but these guys come right out to see you. Ok last ones, the brunnies as I call them, they are really cute, both are a greenish black color. I have seen many people say they look like ruggies but they do not... the big claw is totally different and the blade is like nothing I have ever seen. They are very excited, quick, and curious. A bit like an e, I really enjoy them, they are comedic.

My tanks are set up like this
20G 4 aussies they have to be by themselves because of the water thing
38 2 blueberries they should also be alone, sometimes they get picked on
40 2 Straws
50 4 Violas alone because they can be territorial (mine had taken over the whole last foot of the community tank)
55 The community tank... a drove of PP's, 2 Indos, 3 rugs, 2 brunnies, 1 e

These changes were done on EHLC's recomendations, I tried the straws and indos together (another suggestion but my guys did not like it)

Sorry for the length I hope it helps. I have got to get some photos up here.

Sugar, LHC got better in customer service, but the packaging was not quite to my liking this go around.

Over all though very healthy active crabs. I got one in my shipment today I'm slightly concerned about, but I was in contact with LHC about him already.
