DIY Pirate Cove

Post by Guest » Sat Dec 30, 2006 5:23 pm

This DIY project is the perfect addition to any little treasure-seeking crabs ship (tank)!

Materials needed:

Large, wide piece of driftwood.
Eco earth
2 long, tube like tupperware containers
Rope/hemp netting
A sharp, pointy object like a scissors

Steps:
1. Take pointy object and engrave a phrase into driftwood (i.e. Here be crabbies, or Arrrr ye a land lubber?)

2. Take the same scissors and use it to cut a large hole into both sides of the tupperware ( big enough for your largest crab to fit through)

3. Place your inscribed piece of driftwood in the tank, leaning it againt the back of the tank, so the crabs can hide behind.

4. Take the net and drape it across the driftwood and stretch it tightly against the bottom edge of the tank.

5. Place Eco Earth on top ot the bottom of the net, holding it in place.

6. Place tupperware so it extends out slightly from the sides of the drift wood to create little 'entrances.'

7. Cover the tops/sides of the tupperware with Eco Earth to create a cave/cove.

8. Fill in surrounding substrate.

Pictures might come soon. No guarentee.
