New tank & need some help with heating
Hello fellow crabbers! I have not posted on here in a few years due to some life changes but I am back & ready to dive back into the world of discussing crab things with other crabbers. I just moved & upgraded my 53 gallon tank to a 75 gal & I'm having a tough time with heating. Previously i had use...

Re: Anybody NEVER got mites?
I have been crabbing for 5 years and just rescued two crabs that had some kind of bug on them... I first thought they were mites, but then I posted a thread about it and Wod thought it was wood lice but now we think that they were globular springtails.. but whatever they were I was able to get rid o...
Re: Mite?
Thanks to a post on the roach forum, I think I know what these are now! I'm pretty sure they are globular springtails. :) Ooo yay!! Thanks Rachel [emoji3] well he finally changed out of the spiral shell and I took it right out and boiled it. It was a really old damaged shell. And they were hiding d...

Re: No Power
I usually keep a ton of hand warmers on hand just incase. You can get them at a pharmacy or sporting stores. Usually come two in a pack. You can tape them to the tank and wrap a security blanket around the whole tank. Use warm towels on the lid. I'm glad your Power is back on. But this is a good bac...

Re: found naked/ dead in salt water bowl
thank you everyone. I just hate it when they die... I try so hard to save lives, and when I loose one it just feels like I messed up somehow. which I know cannot be true because I do everything pretty much by the book. its just weird, knowing that you did everything but still some lives can not be s...

Coconut castle DIY
So I have found a website through Pintrest called PetDIYs.com and found instructions on how to make your own coconut castle out of three young coconuts that you gut, bake and put together. Its pretty neat, so I gathered all the supplies and started making it and may I say I have really enjoyed it. F...

found naked/ dead in salt water bowl
I just woke up this morning to find my ruggie upside down and naked in my salt water pool. his shell was laying right next to him, which I do not understand because I have a plant in there that he should have easily been able to get out of. the shell shop is right above it so im thinking maybe he fe...

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/11/04/ad9ef0163ab3faf75e905adf0a93bdac.jpg I finally got a decent picture of these things. Anyone recognize them? The seem to now only be coming off of one crab which is the spiral shell guy. He still will not change out of that shell. However the other guy chan...

Re: Which fogger/mister to get?
I have the reptifogger with mine to, I have it hooked up to the hrogrotherm so when the humidity drops bellow 80% it automatically turns itself on. but the reservoir is small so I have to refill it often. so for a 500 gallon it may not work well for you
Re: Mite?
Ok so for the first few days I had not had any paper towels so I made up some cocofiber. yesterday I took them off of the cocofiber since I finally grabbed some papertowels. but even when I had the on plain eco earth I did not see them in or on the substrate. since they are a light cream white color...

What do you guys think I should do... when im cleaning the tank... spray with vinegar solution and wipe down or just use dechlorinated water? I am doing the extra strength saltwater bath... the mites just keep on coming. I read the entire mite thread over and over. Will vinegar kill the the ones run...
