If it is soft plastic.. i would be concerned that the crabs may eat it. i mean.. they are probably smart enough to not eat it, but you never know.

When that happens to me, I normally grab a flashlight and shine it in the area so i get a better view, and then if the hermies are alive they get kindof angry at you and start moving the antennas around. I have a few (maybe around 20 or so? i dont really know) marine hermits over there *points to coral tank thing.* they are my dad's really, but we have lots of tiny blue ones, and then 4 bigger hermits.

They are awesome, and you can actually hand feed them, they run right up to you

its very very confusing at first, but after a while you start to notice the little differences and then you can identify them from a glance haha

and yeah, they are all PPs
