Well I was impatient and ended up changing the sand out. Except for the spot with the inactive crabs. Hopefully they will be alright.
I feel bad for my other crab though...he's all alone at the moment.
Playsand is perfectly safe for hermits. The sand from HCP is playsand and cocofiber premixed. Yes, playsand is what I've been using from the start. Works great. :) But I felt like splurging this time. :P It says on their site that it's clean Florida sand...I assumed it was beach sand...but hmmmm......
Hi, I was getting rid of the sand in my 10 gallon tank & I found some body parts. Claws and stuff. Freaky lol Is this normal? I'm guessing my crab Sean has been molting down there. I didn't dig up anymore because I'm scared I'll disturb him. I also found another crab (Eric lol) in his shell ...

Perhaps I'll buy it next time... But for now I'm working with what I have...already spent enough on these crabs...My hermitcrab...

I just bought it at Wally world today...
How do you guys set it up in your tank? I noticed it has a magnetic backing. But my aquarium isn't magnetic. lol
I have a 10 gallon tank with a mesh lid, so I wrapped most of the lid in Glad wrap. One of my crabs loves to climb upside down on the lid. But now it's partially covered in plastic wrap. What if he eats it or something? Safe?
I have a 10 gallon tank and need a cheap thermometer/hygrometer that will work and work well. I've had a zoo med one that didn't seem accurate and a digital one that stopped working. Thank you.
