Rather than upping the portions, can you just divide the food into two dishes? That way, B can sit in the food like he wants, and the smaller ones can eat in peace.

I would wait until he has returned to normal color. He shouldn't be acting normal if he just molted, as he'll still be soft and want to rest, but if he is then you could probably put him back in the main tank more quickly.

Does that first picture show a picture of his shell, or a picture of his naked abdomen? If it is the abdomen, then I believe the crab is naked. I'm pretty sure they only shed their exo from their front half (the part visible from outside the shell).

I don't know much about straws, but are you only feeding them carrots and plankton or are you just making that their "staple diet" and feeding them other things everyday? If not, their colors might improve with a more varied diet. If you are feeding them a lot of different stuff, maybe he just came ...
