That is useful advice. I have been thinking about adding them to my tank as well, to help with the cleaning.

This is amazing! The only addition I could think to add is if certain species tend to prefer certain types? I had heard that PPs like rounder openings, for example, but I don't know if that is the case. My PPs all came that way, so I bought them shells similar to what they had.

If you had your crabs in a windowless room or one that got little natural light (such as the basement), and you had the "moon" lights and the "sun" lights in your tank, and had the "moon" on during the day and the "sun" on at night, could you maybe trick them into being active when you're up? I know...

I only have 3 for now, so it's pretty easy. Johann and Pyotr have similar shells, but Johann is redder and Pyotr is really purple. Antonio is in a darker shell, so as long as they all three don't change at the same time, I'm okay. But should I ever have too many to know who is who, I think they will...
