Re: Hiding Crabs

Thanks everyone. My husband teases me because I'm so worried, I even had a dream about the poor things when napping earlier. I just love these little guys and I want them to do well. I'd feel really responsible if something bad happened. I will wait it out for sure. I know I wouldn't want to dig the...

Re: Hiding Crabs

Thank you for the response. He still hasn't come up, not even at night anymore. I'm afraid he's dead because I really do not believe he is molting (but I could be wrong). I don't want to go digging b/c I have another crab under ground who I believe actually is molting. Meanwhile, my other two crabs ...

Hiding Crabs

I've had a hermit crab bought through PetsMart about 4 weeks ago. The few times he has allowed me to hold him, he's been stuck in his shell (for all I know, he is actually a she lol). He's a fairly large crab, and he looks healthy. I've caught him out and about once in a great while at night in the ...

Re: New crabber and need to order shells...

I recently bought shells through naples shell company (recommended by the crab patch.) The shells come very nicely packed (the shipping is a little high) but the price of the shells themselves are very cheap and they are nice. They also help you figure out how to measure appropriately for your crabs...

Help me identify my crabs?

Can someone please help me identify my new crabs? One is very reddish, including the claw, and slightly gray on top...it is also very fast. The other crab is totally gray, and also very fast. They have large eyes, different from my other two crabs. Here are their pictures below! [URL=http://s1380.ph...

Re: Blister on abdomen

Actually yes it does look similar to that! Whew, I feel so much better. That could also explain his change in color. He's been in the water dish and food dish a lot since yesterday, so maybe that's what is about to happen. I haven't seen a molt happen yet, but hopefully that's what it is! Thanks :)

Blister on abdomen

Hello, I am really new to all of this. I've only had hermit crabs for about a month now, but I have done a lot of research as I want to give them the best care possible. They seem to have everything they need in their tank, but they all came from different pet stores. One already died yesterday sort...
