It's on the "do not feed" list for tortoises. Reason: high in saponins. No idea if it affects hermit crabs, though.

I really like it! Great use of decorations

I recently asked this question and found out that it's safe so long as no heat is applied to it. I think heat causes the pvc to release toxic fumes, but not quite sure. Now I'm wondering if it's safe to put against the glass next to a UTH.

What type of heat lamp are you going to use? Day/night bulbs, incandescents, or a ceramic heat emitter? How large is the tank?
