Hello and welcome to he forum. I Saw many people have chimed in and answered most of your questions. So not really more I can add to except were to buy huge shells at a rather cheap price. I recently purchased a 2 inch opening shell from a seller called MyGann(spell it just like that) on amazon. He/...

Re: What are they???
Haha they are quite the trouble makers. I cant even count how many times they've destroyed The tank this past week. As for looking for them try "Petland". One of The workers told me they all get The hermit crabs from one supplier. Seeing as how I got E's list week from there. You might find some The...

Re: New to the crab world!
Hello and welcome to The wonderful world of hermit crabs. I am also rather new to this whole affair, 1 year. But I do know enough to help you. Substrate: 6-8 inches minimium or triple of what your biggest crab is, most do double but I've done triple my biggest crab. This is to allow them to fully co...

Re: Taking the plunge!??
I doubt the algae is bad. I don't think it spreads either but ill let someone else clearify that. Other than that calcium build ups are nothing to fret about they are really hard to remove but pose no threat in my experience. I hope it turns out just the way you plan it. GL!!! Keep us updated :banan...

Kind of a weird question??
I just now finished remodeling the old 55 and found some UN eaten exoskelotens. I double and triple checked and no one is molting or was molting. So my question is should I or can I feed those old exos to my other crabs or is that unethical and nasty? I know cannibalism is normal but just checking. ...

Re: Which ultratherm size for a 55
Thanks,Im so bad at making decisions as you can see. How exactly does a rheostat work? If you dont mind explaining. Lastly you mind posting a pic of your tank so I can have an idea of the uth placement and insulation. Unless you already have pics somewhere else. Sorry to be a bother, still kind of n...
