Re: Longest your crab has
Lunie and Whimsy both switched within a month of their gotcha date, but then Mo had to come into the tank with his butt crammed into one of those longer shells with the sticking out bit and refuses to change. Been at least a year now. Finding shells his size is challenging though, even at the craft ...

Questions Regarding AMBASSADOR Crabs
So here's a question, a lot of people who haven't had crabs or didn't know how to handle them as a kid think all crabs will pinch you. Mo is a great example of a very nice crab. I don't think he'll pinch anybody even if they make him nervous. I can never state that as fact but it's been shown to be ...

Lunie's Tank Update
Today I updated Lunie's tank to have more climbing room and more hidey spots too. I have some mopani wood in there and a fake ivy and a lava rock, all clean and sterile and there's the relatively soft sub anywhere where he might fall off when climbing. He hasn't started exploring yet, but he will, p...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
I made Lunie mad at me. The smell of the chemicals used to clean the bathroom got in his cage so I snatched him out and am airing out the room and cage. He's usually just a tiny bit timid at first then will happily crawl aaallll over your hand or whatever you end up setting him on. It's been about t...

Re: What are your crabs up to?
Not yet, but he has started to check the shells he comes across w/ his big pincher too! He seems very methodical. Is this generally normal for a PP? He's also probably lonely but again not experienced enough to know. He'll be getting some friends in a couple of weeks!

Re: What are your crabs up to?
I think I'm about to watch Lunie do some shell shopping but I don't know for sure. He's like, marching in place right now, facing a green turbo that he occasionally sticks all his feelers in. By the time I come home from work tonight he might very easily be in a new shell!

Re: Lol Lunie what are you doing?
Thanks for your help, Mater and Visual! Yes he's alone, but he's going to get buddies in a couple of weeks and maybe he'll be happier then. I saw him check out a green turbo that looks way too big for him but who knows? He might be getting ready to finally molt and renew his leg tips and little pinc...

Re: Rosebush Branches: Have they been tested?
Thanks everyone! I've been really bad at replying or anything but that's changing because now I have Lunie and I'll be here more often since I just feel sometimes that I have no idea what I'm doing.... lol

Re: I'm gonna be a crab mommy tomorrow!
In my Lunie post, the tank has one level... because the level I did was not sturdy and thank goodness I found out before I brought him home.

Lol Lunie what are you doing?
I've been watching Lunie (admittedly obsessively) since he's come home with me. One thing I don't understand.... He has a thing with corners. He hasn't gone under yet to molt or de-stress yet either, but I assume that he's going to do that on his own whenever he feels like it. But it seems that he h...

Meet Lunie
So as you guys know from my previous post about being a crab mommy, I went out and bought a crab today. I purchased a PP from a place called Pet Supplies Plus, and all of their animals looked healthy, even though their substrate wasn't very deep. I can toss a guess that pet shops don't want all thei...

That was helpful, Hermies_Mom! I now have 5:1 in my tank of playsand and I'm eagerly awaiting my friend to get here so we can GOOOOOO get crab #1 and thanks for the heads up
