Hola, he encontrado algunos isópodos del género Armadillidium y me gustaría saber si es necesarios realizar algún tipo de cuarentena antes de añadirlos a mi tanque para que elimine restos de comida.
Un saludo!

Re: First crabitat
Each crab needs 5-10 gallons (19-38 litres) of space depending on how large it is. A jumbo crab needs 15 gallons (57 litres) and an 18 inch wide tank (46cm) for leg room. This is total tank volume, but having a good amount of substrate is vital. Both substrate and climbing room are vital to a crabs...

Re: First crabitat
5 gallons, or about 19 liters, is the minimum amount of space per crab, and more never hurts. It also depends on the size of your crabs. :) I currently have one medium-large and one small-medium in a 20 gallon. So, when you refer to 19 L (5 gallons), is the volume of the tank or the volume occupied...

Re: First crabitat
I would really encourage you to reconsider your designs and take a look at some of the tanks pictured in the DIY and Pictures sections here. The most important thing for land hermit crabs is deep substrate. They need plenty of room to tunnel and make caves to molt. I personally would not use live r...

Re: First crabitat
Hello :) I do not recommend having the glass compartments. You are essentially making three different molting areas. This is bound to create problems. I would remove those glass pieces. How big is your tank? The HCA recommends a minimum of 6" of substrate or 3 times the height of your largest crab ...

Re: First crabitat
Hi, your tank looks great and is very creative! How many hermit crabs will be living in there? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Thanks, I'm glad you like Angel_crab. Well, at most, 3. When I learn enough, I'll go to 5, but in a larger tank. I have in mind a captive breeding project of Coenobita c...
