Serious help/advice/opinions. Ty
Hey guys. I’ve been inactive for awhile and lost a lot of interest in crabbing (and other things I used to enjoy) due to mental health. All my crabs are still alive even though i’ve slacked on keeping up/maintaining their crabitat. Maybe part of that issue is because I’m also grossed out from the fo...

Re: Guarding? Claiming? Bullying?
When I first added two new crabs to the Tank they were doing that to each other I think it’s like they are just seeing what place they are in the clan Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I’ve seen it happen a few times but never for this long. & I haven’t added any new crabs in a long time these hav...

Re: Guarding? Claiming? Bullying?
This seems to be mating behavior. Although this usually happens from June to July. The males will try to constantly mate with the females. However, I would watch them closely, because mating and aggressive behavior can be very similar. I just finally entered my room after running errands all day fr...

75g crabitat
I redesigned the crabitat by moving things around. The right side looks fun but the left side is boring lol. I’m gonna be adding more plants & whatever else I can add that looks more fun. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200916/9303c68eb3349555e27c07000be5f83e.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Guarding? Claiming? Bullying?
I noticed tonight around 10pm two of my crabs were posted on top of the second level in my crabitat & i was like awww cute. Couple minutes later I noticed one of them (i’m assuming it’s male by the numerous amount of hair on the legs?) was latched on top of the others shell kinda in a mount position...

Re: Is my crab dying? ):
I isolated her in a container with a little bit of substrate, egg shells and a small water dish & 2 empty shells because I found her shell-less. She took 1 shell and I thought maybe I could remove her from the isolation container so I did. A couple hours later I check the tank and she’s shell-less a...

Re: Is my crab dying? ):
Sometimes my crabs like to hang out of their shell and I notice it is because they seem to be cleaning themselves. As soon as they see another crab in sight, they zoom back in for defense. I've also seen a crab lunge at another that was half out of their shell cleaning. When she hangs out of her sh...

Is my crab dying? ):
Hello. Is your substrate mixed with dechlorinated marine saltwater or dechlorinated freshwater to make it sandcastle consistency? Your humidity going down into the 70s is too low. IMO it shouldn't ever dip below 80. Hermits need the humidity to breathe. You need to buy a dechlorinator. Use tap wate...

Re: Awwwww
Yes, but at the same time no. Remember, they are kinda at the bottom of the food chain in the wild, which means they are relatively easy picking. One way to helo reduce chance of being predated on is to stay in a large group (which they do) and hunt out areas to hide in where they are less likely t...
