Re: Foul play?
Ps- Many people on here give their new crabbies a quick dip in the fresh or saltwater pool right before putting them in the tank. This is supposed to help make them smell familiar/like the tank. I just did that tonight with my new guys. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk Alrighty! Thanks f...

Re: Foul play?
No, I appreciate it! Lol. My husband was getting annoyed at me being so worried about them, but I’m just so new to this and seeing the one had passed away was just really upsetting to me.

Re: Foul play?
Congrats on the new crabbies! Aggression is always a possibility, but I'm leaning more toward stress. Hermits will drop their limbs when stressed. How were the conditions when you got the new crabs and tank? Anything wrong/missing that might have stressed him out? Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using...

Foul play?
So, I adopted three new crabs today, well, I thought. The girl I adopted them from was moving and I needed a bigger tank for my two guys so I adopted her hermit crabs and got two new tanks. However when I got home, I went to put more substrate in their tank because there wasn’t enough in there and I...

Re: Moving shells
Typically when they chirp they are in distress or if they are displeased with something. My Es chirp for no reason though - If nothing is bothering him - he might just be like them! Maybe! I’m hoping he will be okay. I’m just very nervous because I’ve never done this before. Lol. Sent from my iPhon...

Re: Moving shells
He’s wandering around now though. He seems to be liking the new shell. I had to replace their water bowls and put a tunnel in instead of the big pyramid I had as a hiding place before because I was wanting to be able to keep an eye on them to make sure there was no fighting. I don’t believe he is pl...

Re: Moving shells
It does not just ran some water through it. But that is the shell I bought him in. Poor guy.GotButterflies wrote:Ah I see. Check to see if it holds water. If it holds water it is fine.

Re: Moving shells
Like CrabbyLover77 previously mentioned, don't worry! It's fine! Just make sure their previous shell is clean in case they change their mind and want to go back! :) The problem with that is it has some holes in it and I think that’s why he was so quick to move out. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/...

Re: Moving shells
I just wasn’t expecting it so soon! Lol. But I have more shells getting here on Wednesday so hopefully the other crab can wait until then. [emoji2360]

Moving shells
So, this seems like a really dumb thing to be concerned about, but one of my crabs moved shells last night or some time during the day and the shell he picked seems a bit too big for him. (I know I shouldn’t pick him up, but I picked up his shell to measure because both of the hermit crabs I just go...

Re: New Crab Mama- First Crabitat
It all depends on the crabby. When I adopted my crab Petunia, she buried herself right away and didn't come up for 7 weeks. So try not to worry too much. I know that is def easier said than done though! [emoji4] Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk Thank you! [emoji3590] Sent from my iPhone ...

Re: New Crab Mama- First Crabitat
Yw! I'm sure Bulma will come out soon, especially if she sees Vegeta out. [emoji7] Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk I hope so. When they were in the little tank yesterday, they interacted a little, bit not a ton. Then Vegeta buried himself a little. [emoji2372] So, we’re playing a waitin...
