What kinds of shells do your purple pinchers prefer? So far mine have worn magpie shells and those green turbos. Poor me, whenever i buy a shell i think looks cool they never pick it.

Is he molting just under the top layer of substrate? Or is that where the cave opening is? How deep is your substrate? How long have you had them? I know it's not made to be food safe, but I figure the bust or whatever should be just about as safe as any other terra cotta pot and if need be you could use different chia seeds for safety.
