Re: Need help
Thanks guys, Thor passed today [emoji53] he was back out of his shell last night so I set him up in a 10g but was too late or he was just that sick. I didnt think about moving him earlier since he was still able to get to the water and food. Then the shell came off and I saw how tiny he was, I figur...

Need help
One of my crabs has been struggling for almost a month. I think he came up after a molt, switched shells, then became very inactive and hiding out in the back of the tank. Can't tell if he's eating, I've seen him at the water several times but mostly salt water. This morning he was out of his shell ...

Re: New Member - Hi and Question

Please note that while some of these may be called 'treats', all are safe to use as part of a regular diet. Hikari Bio-Pure Fro...

Oh thanks for correcting that, I forgot about those other products. I havent found a safe hermit crab food. I never heard of offering dried meat dog and cat treats. Any particular brand you use?

Re: New Member - Hi and Question
Good for you doing the right thing! I did the same thing last summer. Sadly pet stores dont always give proper info. But yes as D said, they bury themselves to de-stress and molt. I worried about my guys and one of my original crabs from Myrtle Beach is still going strong. But sounds like youre doin...

Re: Cycling pools and testing
Awesome, thanks so much for your reply! That all makes perfect sense and I will test every few days moving forward. So I will leave the cartridges be, and when I do a water change I'll just clean the sponges in the water that I removed. And the pools look pretty clean so that makes sense as well. Li...

Cycling pools and testing
I have sponge filters in both my new pools, started about 2 weeks ago. I did a water change last week before testing and most of the water was removed because the siphon I used was too big. Since then, I found a smaller siphon at Petsmart and read up on HCA about cycling and to test before changing ...

Re: Recommended hides
Is there any hides on amazon or Etsy or any store that’s affordable? I’m worried about quality. My crabs are shy :] They love hiding under moss. Also what 3d printer material do you recommend because my friend has one and offered use for me These are 2 that I've used.. the wood hide is from Petco a...

Re: Should I get a second crab?
Hi all, I am a new crab owner trying to do justice to my childhood crab that I definitely did not take care of correctly. I did my research to make the best crabitat I could afford within my space. I got two PP crabs - Benny and Joon. Benny was immediately more lovely than Joon, but they both ended...
