Colored Play Sand?

Post by Guest » Tue May 05, 2009 11:49 am

I got a new job at Menards today. While I was walking around getting aquanted with the store, I saw some purple play sand. I was just wondering, would it be ok to put the purple sand in my tank?

I just looked through a few threads on the forum. For sure, Crayola play sand is not OK. Most people seem to advise against colored play sand in the crabitat.I'm sure it says non-toxic, but I personaly wouldn't risk it.

Yeah, general concensus is that colored playsand isn't a good choice for hermits because of the way it's made. I've read about it on several sites but I think CSJ has a good article on it.
