Ocean City, NJ - General Announcment

This is a general comment as I was on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk a few weeks ago and people who work on the boardwalk said that come end of season the boardwalk tourist shops just dump their hermit crabs that don't sell onto the beach. There is no way they can survive and some surfers also said they see them roaming around in September.

Yes, this is unfortunately very true. My mom's best friend has a hosue in Sea Isle, NJ and has seen the big cages trashed in the dumpsters. One time she attempted to rescue any survivors but it was too late at that point. It is a major issue :(

I've also seen this. It should be illegal! It's ridiculous.

Does anyone try to rescue the crabs or do anything about it?

I absolutely will donate if anyone wants to start a gofundme to support those crabs.
