So I added about 50 or so to the tank. I just grabbed a handful of moss and laid it in the tank, then shook them off of the oak bark (which they LOVE). Immediately they disappeared. I checked back about 30 minutes later and I can't find any of them. I looked in the moss and around where I put them in at, and there's no sign of them.... Is that normal? I only have 2 crabs up right now so there's no way they ate all of them in that short amount of time...
I still have PLENTY in the tote... I saved some so that after we move, I'll be able to add the rest.

They will scatter and dissapear. At first I didnt see any either. I think they are like crabs to an extent and need to destress and hide. Eventually you will start seeing them here and there on food dishes and darting between things to hide under. If you flip the piece of bark over you will probably see dozens scurry. That's where mine love to hide. That and in the Cholla wood. If it is dark and you use the light on your phone you will see them scatter too.

In their tote, they're EVERYWHERE! they completely cover the underside of the oak bark. I absolutely love watching them! But I'm trying to leave them be since they need dark and warmth. Me taking them into the cold living room with all the lights on just to stare at them isn't good. But I can't help it

I tried mealworms first, they loved it! Then I tried purple sweet potato powder.... It was a hit! Took them a few days to get into it, but they cleaned the shell! I just added some powder chicken, I hope they like it!!

I can finally see the ones I added into my tank. About how long until yall noticed them breeding? I can't tell in the tote yet. But it's only been a week or two, so they're still getting used to it and settling in.

I love watching them in the tank!!!

I started to see babies in a week or two. I guess they were bored in the transit from Florida to Pennsylvania! They start off white and look alot like mites. Now I have an assortment of different sizes.

Mine have been really liking my tombstone cuttlebones. They actually have burrow holes in some of them. I still think their favorite food is still carrot pieces. They always seem to much on that.

I have a hard time with them when I change the crabs food. There are always a bunch in the dishes. I try to get them all out before I change the food but they scurry and hide wherever they can. I found usually if I blow on them when they are on the side of the dish they will usually drop off. You can't really brush them off either because they bodies are too soft.

Mine love the oak bark, in the tote and the tank. They cover it. I haven't seen many on the food dish in the tank.. but I've only got one up and he's getting ready to go down for a molt so I've kept the food changed every day. Ill hopefully see some babies soon. I might already have some and just can't see them!

If you put a piece of that in your tank - they will be all over that in a jiffy. @Motorcrab - If you wanted to start a tote for your isopods that is what you could do with all of the leftover food. That way you don't feel bad getting rid of isopods. Just tap the food dish in the tote - and viola they will finish it off for you. @Ciara - don't go feeding your isopods that food! LOL - seriously - you can feed them carrots, leaf litter, bark, and calcium. They are simple! Of course they love the good stuff - but it's not necessary!

I will go back to petco and see if i can find a smaller cork bark to add, i didn't realize they loved that too! i love watching them crawl all in the cholla wood
