Is this a PP?

Post by Wlfwo » Mon Mar 26, 2018 10:59 am

Have had this little guy for a bit now, very active, but oh, so grey. Would name him 50 shades, but since he hasn't molted...any suggestions on what he is?Image

I didn't think he was a PP, but since I am relatively new, wasn't sure. Thanks so much! So he'll stay grey?

He'll probably turn brown or orangey as he gets larger. Blues and greys tend to molt out in captivity for some reason.

Thanks, will hold off naming then, unless I go with Diver, if he's pole sitting or in the tree he usually dives off when he sees me.

I just wanted to mention a few suggestions that I have with Es. I recommend a minimum of 10 gallons PER E, 10'" to 12" of substrate regardless of size (they typically don't get bigger than a golf ball). I have four full grown ones, but a total of 10 now (I think) - these guys are diggers; and lots of protein. I give mine a minimum of 2 proteins a day. By following these guidelines I have been able to avoid any issues. :) They are my favorite species :)

Edit: They do tend to like the warmer climate as well. I keep my tanks from 79 (low at night) to 85 (high during day).
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

I love my Es. When they were smaller, they were a light blue/gray. Now that I've had them for over year and many molts later, they are brown and orange and oh so fuzzy.
