Ultratherm heater

I am building a new 55 gallon home for my little guys and have a question about the heater. I purchased the recommended Ultratherm non-sticky, along with Reflectix and duct tape. Is that all I need to install it to the back of my tank? Also, the heater is 47 x 11 and my tank is 48 x 18. Do I place the heater in the center? I don’t have substrate or anything in it yet.
I apologize if this question has already been answered somewhere else. I searched the other topics/conversations and couldn’t find anything about it. Thanks!
