Substrate temperature?
Re: Substrate temperature?
My reply really didn’t help you with your question either, I’ve never really thought of what the sub temp would be. I would maybe drop the temperature on your space heater a degree every day until it stops heating to gradually turn it off. I don’t think they need the sub heated but like Aussie said, some people do put the ultratherm under sub level to give a warmer area for them to go to. As long as it’s not too cold in the room they’re in, I don’t think it would be too cold to where it would effect them.

Re: Substrate temperature?
A few degrees of change isn't going to make a huge impact. When you get up to around a 10 degree difference then it gets iffy, as I have found that mine do choose where to molt based on temps and I personally do everything possible to prevent wild swings.

Substrate temperature?
Great info! I’ll ween them off the space heater keeping an eye on soil temp. As air temp is steady
Edit: before bed I added a sheet of insulation board covering the entire glass on the back. Soil temp jumped up near 80!!! Over night. I turned the space heater down even more and repositioned it as I think it was heating directly under the tank. Looks like I might be able to turn it off completely if I keep tinkering.
Thanks again everyone!
