Substrate sand

Post by roxyo12 » Sun May 29, 2022 7:41 pm

I have a bag of play sand that we got atleast a year ago, now it’s time to redo the crabs tank substrate and I was wondering if the bag is going to be okay to use considering it’s been sitting on the front porch all this time?

It’s fine, sand doesn’t go bad.

I've actually done the same thing. I had 2 bags sitting on my front porch forever (probably over a year). I only recently opened the one bag for my newer 29 gal and it was fine. I still have one more bag hanging out front.

Yeah, I left a bag on my front porch for like a year....through an entire winter when it was frozen to the porch.....LOL....

Now if I see anyone with a bag of sand on their front porch, I'm going to assume they're a crabber LOL
